2010 celebrates 100 years of Boy Scouts in America.
One of the events to celebrate this was a major food drive for the local food banks.
The scouts dropped off sacks in different neighborhoods on a Saturday morning with a note explaining about the food drive.
The following Saturday they went around and gathered up all the donations that people had left in the sacks.
Trucks were used to help bring the food to the food banks.
The food was sorted and checked to make sure it hadn't passed the expiration date.
Over 20 tons of food were collected just in our area.
Yes, Papa John's donated pizzas to the hardworking, tuckered out hungry scouts.
