Philmont - Tuesday afternoon

We finally arrived at French Henry. This is the staff quarters.

The blacksmith shop.

The kitchen sports only the latest and greatest of appliances.

Minor repairs do happen.

Actually, she is helping. Right?

Staff dress in period clothes and talk and live for the time period.

Women were very much part of the history here.

Panning for gold. Yes, gold is still found and it's called gold dust. It poured rain on us so we hid out in the museum.

This is the French Henry museum. Special groups will spend nights inside here like R.O.C.S. or Rayado. Right, Whitney?

A few artifacts found here.

One of the views hiking back to Baldy Town.

Baldy Mountain in back. In this shale they were looking for shark teeth.

To be fair, while they were looking at rocks, this is what I was doing.

These cars are in Baldy Town. Anyone know what year they are?

And there will be a test afterwards...

Another evening view of the valley.

French Henry! Sleeping in the museum was cool but a little creepy. Dad's so cute! I'm glad you took pictures.
