As soon as I turn the computer on I immediately go to the Eagle Nest Cam site. This was our first view, the second chick hatched! You can still see it's shell in the nest.

Bandit is the oldest, and strongest. The second one is mostly laying down. The third one ...still in the shell.

What to name the second one? Fuzzy? Could call him/her Fuzzball for short.

Mama, watching over her little ones.

Lunch time.

And then it's time for a nap.

We spent ALL DAY watching them. We are getting NOTHING done! But hey, I can count it as homeschooling right!

You're taking a field trip, without taking a field trip. In Science, the power of observation. Math - counting chicks and food storage. English - follow up by reading books on the life of eagles. Writing - a report on what you learned and applying lessons learned to one's own life. Geography - areas most populated by eagles. Astronomy - constellations with eagles/birds. History - countries represented by eagles, symbolism of eagles used by our country and other countries. Etc. Hey, you could do school all week, all month just on eagles.
